What is Information Literacy? 

"Information Literacy is defined as the ability to know when there is a need for information, to be able to identify, locate, evaluate, and effectively use that information for the issue or problem at hand" (National Forum on Information Literacy).

At Clatsop Community College, the Learning Resource Center (Library) provides information literacy instruction so that students can accomplish the following:

In addition to the above guidelines for information literacy instruction, the Library's instruction is unique to program, class, and assignment. Information literacy instruction is most effective when taught in collaboration with teaching faculty.
