Delicious is a social bookmarking site. You know all those 'bookmarks' or 'favorites' on your computer? Well, instead of saving those on one computer, you can create an account, save, and 'tag' your favorite websites to delicious. All this means that you can access and share your bookmarks from anywhere. You can also check out other people's bookmarks to get ideas and explore new paths.
Here's how we (that's you, the library staff, and whoever else!) can create a tag cloud together.
1. Login to
delicious. The
username is uraraccoon (I know it's cheesy, but...) and the
password is share! (exlamation point included).
2. Now, you should find yourself within the account. You'll see a number of links across the top, including 'post.' If you have a website you want to add to the bookmark list, you'll hit the 'post' link and follow the subsequent directions. You'll be asked to add a URL for the website, a description (the name of the website) and a 'tag' for the website. A 'tag' is a one or two word description for the website. That 'tag' will later appear in the overall 'tag cloud' for our account.

Thanks for sharing your favorite websites!
